With "My Synaxarion - A Saint for Every Day," the Orthodox family creates memorable moments, learning truly useful things in a pleasant way!

The lives of the Saints of the Church prove in practice that the teaching of Christ can be applied by every person for the salvation of their immortal and unique soul. The ecclesiastical year, which begins on September 1st, ends on August 31st. During the first fortnight, known as the Dekapentavgoustos, we prepare with fasting, attentiveness, and prayer for the final Theotokos feast of the ecclesiastical year, the Dormition of the Theotokos. Fasting is only one part of the preparation for the feast; prayer is another important part of the preparation. The Church prepares us with the daily Small Paraklesis to the Theotokos. Families who are able to go to a holy church perform the Paraklesis there every evening, while those who cannot do so at home. Throughout the Dekapentavgoustos, we perform the Paraklesis to the Theotokos, at home or in church! Many families keep the volume of the month open at a central point in the house to the Saint of the Day, and thus keep the Saint at the center of their thoughts. |
With a brief daily study of the life of a Saint, that is, their Synaxarion, young and old are inspired to serve and worship Christ, just as the Saints did, and to live according to His holy will.
