Calliope!
A beautiful name, of a most courageous Holy Martyr!
A beautiful name, of a most courageous Holy Martyr!
Saint Calliope dared not to obtain a certificate of sacrifice to the idols for the "good" of the Empire.
Apolytikion
Tone 1. Dweller of the desert
Having loved the beauty of the Savior from your soul,
O fair-virgin maiden, all-laudable Calliope,
you struggled firmly for His sake,
and were deemed worthy of divine glory;
therefore we honor your sacred memory,
crying out to you:
glory to Him who gave you strength,
glory to Him who crowned you,
glory to Him who grants us, through you, the forgiveness of sins.
