Saint Luke the Apostle was Greek and originated from Antioch, a region of the Greek Kingdom of Syria, which is in Turkey today.
He was a well-traveled man and had studied many sciences.
He was a physician, a philosopher, and a painter.
He once visited the Holy City of Jerusalem; he heard Christ preaching, witnessed His miracles, and became His disciple. And Christ chose him to be one of His Seventy Apostles.
