Saint Mamas, the Child-Martyr, is venerated throughout the Orthodox world and is known for his many miracles.
Our Greek Orthodox brethren in the largest Greek island, the Great Island and Saint-bearing Cyprus, show him particularly great devotion; an island which today, despite the great struggles of the modern great Heroes of Hellenism, remains two-fifths occupied by enemies of Christ and Hellenism, and for this reason the memory of the Saint cannot be celebrated freely in the city that loves him most, Morphou.
Thus, in Cyprus, there are Holy Relics of the Holy Child-Martyr Mamas, and seventy churches are dedicated to his holy memory, which is celebrated festively on September 2nd.
