The Old Testament, the canonical one of the Orthodox Church, consists of forty-nine books. The New Testament consists of twenty-seven books; of these twenty-seven books, four (four and not twelve) are the Holy Gospels. These authentic Gospels were recorded by the Holy Evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the only true Evangelists!
