The lives of the Saints of the Church prove in practice that the teaching of Christ can be applied by every person for the salvation of their immortal and unique soul.
In the first of the three parts of the February volume, you will get to know twenty-nine Orthodox Saints
Usually, in February, we prepare for Great Lent. During Great Lent, the Divine Liturgy is celebrated only on Saturdays, Sundays, and during the week only for a major feast such as the Annunciation. Thus, memorial services are not held as they are the rest of the year.
In the second part of the February volume, we have included the Supplicatory Canon to the Holy Theodores, firstly because both great Saints are commemorated in February, and secondly because one of the two is directly related to a basic element of the memorial service, the Kollyva.
We read the Supplicatory Canon to the Saints in February and when we are preparing for a memorial service.
With a brief daily study of the life of a Saint, that is, their Synaxarion, young and old are inspired to serve and worship Christ, just as the Saints did, and to live our own lives in accordance with His holy will.
