The Mystery of Baptism is the first of the mandatory mysteries of our Church, and without it having preceded, a person cannot participate in any of the other Mysteries of the Church, neither the mandatory ones (Chrismation, Holy Eucharist, Repentance-Confession), nor the optional ones (Marriage, Priesthood, Holy Unction).
As a blessed couple who handed them out at their child's Baptism says: "It is the best thing; the most beneficial thing we have ever handed out at a child's Baptism."
