Wales is a relatively small country, part of Great Britain, and it has its own language of Celtic origin. Although small, Wales has offered many Saints to the Church; the most beloved is Saint David, Dewi Sant in Welsh. He was born around 500 A.D. and fell asleep in Christ in 589 A.D.
His tomb is a place where many sick people are healed, and many come to honor the Patron Saint of Wales. His Holy Relics are located in the Cathedral of the smallest city in Great Britain, the city that bears his name, St Davids.
We celebrate his memory on March 1st. This day is celebrated festively in Wales. Children and adults make the special Welsh Cake for this day.
