“The reputation of Saint Niphon, as a man of God, reached all of Constantinople and beyond its walls. The faithful began to see him as someone special.
The Saint, in order to avoid honors and dangerous glory, decided to leave for Egypt. Thus, he arrived in Alexandria. There, Patriarch Alexander, seeing his virtues, appointed him Bishop of Constantiana.”
