Argyrios was born in Epanomi, a beautiful small town near Thessaloniki. It was the year 1788, that is to say, in the dark years of the Islamic enslavement of our Motherland.
Argyrios was a graceful and modest child.
When he was about fifteen years old, he left for Thessaloniki to find work and thus help his parents with his wages.
