NOVEMBER 16 - We often hear the term Holy Bible. Do we know what the Holy Bible includes?
The Holy Bible consists of the Old and the New Testament.
The Old Testament, according to the Orthodox Church, consists of forty-nine books. The New Testament consists of twenty-seven books; of these twenty-seven books, four (four and not twelve) are the Holy Gospels. These authentic Gospels were recorded by the Holy Evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the only true Evangelists!
Every single word from the first Gospel, which has been recorded by the holy hand of the Holy Evangelist Matthew, is truly worth memorizing. By memorizing the Gospel of Matthew, we receive an extraordinarily great blessing and a unique and guaranteed infallible guide for our lives.
Our children deserve to know the Holy Evangelist Matthew, who abandoned his financially secure life and, without a single moment of hesitation, followed Christ as soon as He called him to follow Him!
