OCTOBER 13 -
Saint Chryse the New Martyr is honored by all Orthodox Christians of the Balkans.
A Turco-Albanian invader tried to make her betray the sweetest Christ; however, the brave New Martyr Chryse resisted and valiantly suffered martyrdom for Christ in 1795, on October 13, in the village of the same name, Chryse, which is located just twenty-five kilometers northeast of the beautiful city of Edessa.
